Affinity Apothecary Aromatherapy

Internal   External   Restoration   Rejuvenation

We began our journey in the education and application of organic natural products in 2009 as we marketed samples to our existing customers. During the summer of 2010, Affinity Salon & Spa began selling bottles of organic essential oils and blends as Affinity Wellness oils. After much success and amazing testimonials, we evolved and expanded with a greater supply of pure essential oils and with integration into many of our services, including massage, facial and aromatherapy treatments.

Today, Affinity Wellness is an independent modern day apothecary and retailer of non-manufactured and pre-processed products. We encourage recycling and savings through refill discounts on most of our products.

Affinity Wellness provides organic herbs, oils, teas, salts, and more! Our custom blends are created “as ordered” for our customers. We shelve our most popular items, but first timer’s blends require consultation. We are proud of our organic commitment offering more services, products and information, and selling only conventionally grown tea, pure plant extracts, and organic oils. Affinity was the first Salon & Spa in Rockwall to make such a bold commitment and remains the only one to this day. We encourage you to be passionately organic. Enjoy the journey to find the correct balance for your internal, external, restoration and rejuvenation. Stop by and enjoy a hot cup of tea and a sampling of our new wellness oils. There is nothing more satisfying and enjoyable than the fresh taste of a hand crafted, loose-leaf herbal tea and rejuvenating aromas. We offer aromatherapy to any service and custom blends by reservation.

Apothecary:  one who prepares and sells compounds for medicinal purposes.

The first known use of the apothecary was in the 14th century. Using herbal and chemical ingredients, the work of the apothecary may be regarded as a precursor of the modern sciences of chemistry and pharmacology, prior to the formulation of the scientific method.

By the 15th century, the apothecary gained the status of a skilled practitioner, but by the end of the 19th century, the medical professions had taken on their current institutional form, with defined roles for physicians and surgeons. The role of the apothecary was more narrowly conceived as that of a place in which one goes to purchase herbal compounds.

Wellness Oils
Aromatherapy treatments use different aromas and essential oils to treat many types of ailments and diseases. During any type of aromatherapy, much of the essential organic oils are inhaled and absorbed through the mouth and nose stimulating the production of relaxing, sedative euphoric or sedative neuro-chemical, providing beneficial mental and emotional effects. Benefits are achieved through smelling the essence of the many essential oils.

Here are some of the more popular aromatherapy scents used for stress relief, and their effects, with suggestions on how to make the most of them so you can match the right scent with your aromatherapy needs. The components of the various oils are believed to aid in a variety of physical conditions including: health, hygiene, mental and beauty.

Essential oils are very powerful and concentrated and should never be applied to the skin in their undiluted form. When applied to the skin essential oils are believed to be absorbed into the bloodstream. But not all scents are created equal, nor do they affect human physiology and behavior in the same ways.

Please inquire about a specific oil for your aromatherapy prior to appointment, as we carry various oils and blends. Lavender is our most popular and is safe for all ages.
